Key Responsibilities
Partner with research teams to develop and deploy machine learning systems for robotics, autonomous vehicles, energy, and materials science programs.
Build and maintain ML infrastructure, tooling, and platforms to support research productivity.
Translate research breakthroughs into robust, scalable production systems for integration into Toyota products.
Work across the ML stack, including cloud training infrastructure, LLM integrations, and data pipelines.
Apply expertise in areas such as MLOps, edge embedded ML, LLM systems, and data engineering to accelerate research and deployment.
Requirements
Experience working as a Machine Learning Engineer or in a similar role with a strong background in developing and deploying machine learning systems.
Deep expertise in two or more specific areas such as MLOps fundamentals, hands-on edge embedded ML experience, LLM systems expertise, or robust data engineering skills.
Ability to move fluently across the ML stack, including cloud training infrastructure, LLM integrations, and data pipelines.
Proficiency in translating experimental research work into production-quality deployments.
Strong generalist skills in machine learning, AI, and related infrastructure.
Experience partnering with research teams across robotics, autonomous vehicles, energy, or materials science programs.
Ability to build systems that accelerate research velocity and enable breakthrough research across multiple programs.
Educational background or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines.
Experience with building infrastructure, tooling, and platforms to support research and production deployment.
Experience with deploying scalable, robust machine learning systems in production environments.
Knowledge of and experience with cloud training infrastructure, LLM systems, and data pipelines.
