Job Description
A research internship focused on developing and integrating machine learning models for autonomous driving systems, including perception, planning, and control, to advance Toyota's automated driving technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement, evaluate, and integrate ML-based components for perception, planning, and control systems.
- Contribute to simulation-based testing of machine learning models.
- Collaborate with researchers, data engineers, and autonomy engineers to scale models from prototype to production.
Requirements
- Must be a candidate for or have completed a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field.
- Must have experience or demonstrated ability in developing, implementing, evaluating, and integrating machine learning models, particularly for perception, planning, and control systems.
- Must have the ability to work closely with researchers, data engineers, and autonomy engineers to ensure models scale from prototype to production.
- Must be able to contribute to simulation-based testing of ML components for autonomous driving systems.
- Must have experience or familiarity with end-to-end machine learning models that translate pixels to trajectories for autonomous driving.
- Must be able to contribute to the implementation and evaluation of ML-based components in a collaborative team environment.
- Must be able to work in a hybrid in-office role during the 12-week summer internship period.
- Must be available for the full duration of the internship in Summer 2026 (12 weeks).
- Must be able to demonstrate relevant open-source contributions or technical project write-ups related to machine learning or autonomous systems.
