The AI Resident at Toyota Research Institute will engage in research on embodied AI, focusing on developing foundation models and methods for spatio-temporal reasoning, multi-modal learning, and 4D world modeling to enable autonomous agents to operate effectively in real-world environments.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to research efforts in 4D World Models, Physical and Embodied Intelligence, and Multi-Modal Learning.
Develop methods and techniques for spatio-temporal reasoning and zero-shot generalization.
Collaborate with researchers and engineers on high-risk, innovative AI projects related to embodied AI.
Advance understanding of multi-modal foundation models leveraging large-scale multi-modal data.
Participate in the development of AI models capable of operating in real-world, unstructured environments.
Requirements
A background in research or engineering focused on embodied AI, spatio-temporal reasoning, or related fields.
Experience working on high-risk research projects related to AI, robotics, or autonomous systems.
Strong collaboration skills to work closely with researchers and engineers at Toyota Research Institute on ongoing and new research efforts.
Ability to develop methods and techniques that can solve real-world problems in embodied AI and related areas.
Demonstrated interest or experience in multi-modal learning, 4D world models, physical and embodied intelligence, or similar research areas.
