Job Description
A Professional Engineer in Civil Construction at TKDA will lead site design projects for industrial rail facilities, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support business development efforts within a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead site design for industrial facilities such as railyards, maintenance and service buildings, locomotive fueling stations, and administrative offices
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop innovative infrastructure solutions for railroads
- Manage project tasks, timelines, and client communication to ensure successful project delivery
- Mentor junior staff and support their professional development
- Contribute to business development efforts by cultivating client relationships and supporting proposal development
Requirements
- Possess a Professional Engineer license in Civil Engineering or be eligible to obtain licensure in Illinois.
- Have experience taking the lead on site design for industrial facilities such as railyards, maintenance and service buildings, locomotive fueling stations, and administrative offices.
- Demonstrate the ability to solve complex infrastructure challenges related to railroad projects.
- Be able to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including experts in architecture, civil, electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering.
- Have the capacity to grow project management skills and mentor junior staff.
- Be willing to contribute to business development efforts by cultivating client relationships and supporting proposal development.
- Successfully complete a standard pre-employment background screening, including Social Security verification, educational verification, review of criminal convictions, and driving history.
