Job Description
The internship involves supporting structural engineering projects related to building facilities, including designing structural models, floor plans, and construction documentation, while gaining exposure to project lifecycle stages and working alongside a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing structural models, floor plans, details, and construction documentation using AutoCAD and Revit
- Support the design of steel, cast-in-place concrete, and precast concrete structures
- Participate in various stages of project life cycle from conception through construction
- Assist with preliminary site conditions assessments
- Support construction administration activities
Requirements
- Be an undergraduate pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis.
- Have an interest in building facility design.
- Be available to work 40 hours per week with occasional overtime throughout the summer of 2025 from mid-May through mid-August.
- Be able to work primarily from the office in Bloomington or an assigned project site, with the possibility of flexible hybrid work arrangements.
- Complete a standard pre-employment background screening, including Social Security verification, educational verification, review of criminal convictions, and driving history.
