Job Description
The 2025 Summer Intern in Civil Engineering will work with the Surface Transportation team in Bloomington, Minnesota, applying academic knowledge to assist in traffic data collection, intersection evaluations, and the preparation of preliminary designs for transportation infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with observing and collecting traffic data
- Complete intersection evaluations and corridor studies
- Conduct analyses using simulation and modeling software
- Prepare preliminary designs for traffic signals
- Develop construction plans for construction staging, maintenance of traffic, and signing striping
Requirements
- Must be an undergraduate pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
- Must have an interest in traffic.
- Must be available to work 40 hours per week with occasional overtime throughout the summer of 2025 from mid-May through mid-August.
- Upon acceptance of a conditional offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to complete a standard pre-employment background screening, which consists of Social Security verification, educational verification, review of criminal convictions, and driving history.
