Job Description
A Senior Cloud Security Engineer at Sword Health is responsible for protecting the company's cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP, implementing security controls, enhancing detection and response capabilities, and ensuring compliance with regulations like HIPAA and GDPR to support the secure growth of their AI-driven healthcare platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Protect and secure cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP platforms.
- Strengthen preventative security controls within cloud environments.
- Improve detection and response capabilities for security incidents.
- Partner closely with engineering and infrastructure teams to ensure security best practices.
- Translate security risks into practical, business-aligned controls in a regulated environment.
Requirements
- Possess strong technical depth in cloud security engineering, including experience working hands-on across AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Have experience strengthening preventative security controls within cloud environments.
- Have experience improving detection and response capabilities in cloud infrastructure.
- Partner closely with engineering and infrastructure teams to implement security measures.
- Translate risk into practical, business-aligned security controls.
- Possess sound security judgment suitable for a highly regulated environment, including compliance with HIPAA and GDPR.
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud security engineering or a related role.
- Have a solid understanding of cloud security best practices and security frameworks.
- Be able to operate effectively in a highly regulated environment with strict compliance requirements.
- Candidates must possess a valid EU visa and be based in Portugal.
