Job Description
The Lead ML Engineer will develop and oversee AI and machine learning solutions for personalized clinical care, including building end-to-end AI treatment management systems and engaging in advanced AI workflows to improve healthcare accessibility and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement AI and ML solutions for personalized clinical care
- Design and build end-to-end AI treatment management systems
- Create and optimize AI components such as prompt engineering, RAG implementations, and model fine-tuning
- Build and maintain agentic workflows for AI-driven patient engagement and clinical guidance
- Leverage generative AI and classical machine learning techniques based on project requirements
Requirements
- Candidates must possess a valid EU visa and be based in Portugal.
- Extensive experience in developing and deploying machine learning and AI solutions, including end-to-end AI treatment management systems that handle complete care pathways from initial assessment through intervention selection and progress monitoring.
- Proficiency in prompt engineering, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) implementations, model fine-tuning, and agentic workflows.
- Experience working with both generative AI and classical machine learning techniques, depending on the problem requirements.
- Strong programming skills in relevant languages such as Python, and experience with AI/ML frameworks and tools.
- Ability to work remotely and independently within a Europe-based context, with flexible working hours.
- Educational background in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field (implied by the seniority level and technical nature of the role).
