Job Description
This role involves overseeing and troubleshooting deposition equipment and control systems during night shifts at a solar technology manufacturing facility, with a focus on electrical diagnostics, automation improvements, and equipment recovery to ensure continuous production and support the development of advanced solar solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure reliable operation of deposition equipment, control systems, and facility infrastructure overnight
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and PLC-related failures safely
- Review handoff notes and troubleshoot control systems, electrical faults, and alarms
- Partner with equipment engineers to replace sensors, valves, MFCs, RF components, or pumps as needed
- Support mechanical repairs and facility issues such as cooling water and gas supply interruptions
- Design and improve HMI systems for deposition tools
- Develop automation routines, algorithms, and troubleshooting trees for equipment
- Implement predictive maintenance checks and improve PLC alarm diagnostics
- Strengthen spare parts readiness for night shift operations
- Achieve a high recovery rate of tool-down events and reduce mean time to repair
Requirements
- Have 5 years of hands-on equipment engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Be a strong electrical troubleshooter who can read schematics and diagnose controls and wiring problems under pressure.
- Have experience programming, debugging, and troubleshooting PLC systems such as Beckhoff, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar.
- Have general EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) and safety knowledge, with the ability to identify safety concerns and troubleshoot solutions on the spot.
- Be comfortable working a night shift schedule from 10 PM to 6:30 AM and can hand off findings to the day shift team clearly and effectively.
