Job Description
The Staff Accountant at Solid Power will be responsible for supporting month-end close processes, financial reporting, and audit documentation in a collaborative and dynamic environment focused on solid-state battery technology development.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform tasks as part of the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries and monitoring sub-ledger interfaces.
- Assist with financial reporting requirements for the SEC, including preparing supporting consolidation and footnote schedules.
- Prepare lease accounting under ASC 842 and stock-based compensation expense.
- Prepare the quarterly statement of stockholder’s equity and EPS.
- Prepare the monthly balance sheet reconciliation and resolve unusual variances.
- Assist with preparing internal and external audit documentation.
- Support special projects or requests as determined by the Finance Department.
Requirements
- GED or High School Diploma required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of public accounting experience
- Ability to juggle many tasks, prioritize, and problem-solve
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Understanding and applicable experience applying U.S. GAAP
- CPA or other relevant professional certification preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional team members
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience utilizing an ERP system such as SAP desired
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule, about 2 to 3 days a week
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
- Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard
- Close vision requirements due to computer work
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: 70,000 - 90,000 annually
Work schedule: hybrid schedule, about 2 to 3 days a week in the office
