Job Description
A Senior Process Mechanical Engineer at Solid Power will oversee the development, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of powder production equipment for next-generation solid-state batteries, supporting process optimization and safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support acceptance testing, commissioning, startup, and maintenance of powder production equipment.
- Develop preventative maintenance protocols, spare parts requirements, and support equipment installation and qualification.
- Assist with assembly, operation, and troubleshooting of production equipment.
- Develop and implement equipment maintenance procedures to ensure performance and reliability.
- Investigate equipment issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain end-to-end lifecycle documentation for equipment and assets.
- Support safety procedures through Process Hazard Analysis and safety layer implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering
- 12 years of industry experience in the materials production environment
- Experience of installation, commissioning, developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and refining equipment design of new equipment under a commercial powder production environment
- Analytical skills for troubleshooting materials production equipment problems
- Interpersonal skills in developing positive working relations to interface well with other engineers, scientists, and operations personnel
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary including, but not limited to eye protection, hair net, gloves, face mask, coveralls, full-face respirator or PAPR

Salary range: $126,000 - $186,000 per year
