Solid Power is seeking a Electrolyte R&D Scientist I/II to join our talented team of engineers and scientists working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next generation, all solid‐state rechargeable batteries.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with and under the direction of senior s cientists to execute planned experimentation aimed at modifications and improvements to solid-state electrolytes.
Performs material synthesis, characterization, data acquisition , and analysis .
Communicate results and roadblocks to the broader team .
Perform regular and required housekeeping such as lab and glassware cleaning.
Always follow all facility and laboratory safety rules and regulations, e nsur ing safe h andl ing and proper disposal of hazardous materials and equipment .
Requirements
Bachelors in Chemistry , Chemical Engineering , Materials Engineering , or related d egree from an accredited college/university.
Experience in an academic or industrial lab environment
Comfort with safe handling of hazardous materials and equipment is required .
Experience in material characterization techniques is a plus ( XRD, EIS, FTIR , DSC/TGA, Raman, SEM /EDS )
Experience in synthetic chemistry.
Experience with statistical and relevant software ( design of experiments (D.O.E.) a plus ).
Knowledge of Li-ion battery materials optimization and synthesis is preferred
Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary including, but not limited to eye protection, hair net, gloves, face mask, coveralls, full-face respirator or PAPR
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk .
Prolonged periods of standing
Ability to work in gloveboxes and dry rooms
Salary Range: $70,000 - $120,000/year
