Job Description

A Senior Accountant role responsible for managing daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and supporting audits, within a growing clean energy recycling company focused on solar panel sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Post vendor invoices, prepare and record payments, and maintain AP aging reports
Record customer invoices, payments, and prepare AR aging reports
Perform collections efforts for selected invoices
Record payroll journal entries based on payroll system data
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
Assist with month-end close processes
Support audits and tax return preparations
Document and update business processes to strengthen internal controls
Assist with management reporting and financial statement preparation

Requirements

3-5 years of experience in finance accounting
Proven experience as a staff accountant with demonstrated understanding of the basic tenants of Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Payroll, and General Ledger (GL)
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
Understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Familiarity with financial accounting statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end close process
Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
Accuracy and attention to detail
Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
BA or BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
