Job Description
A Senior Accountant role responsible for managing daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and supporting audits, within a growing clean energy recycling company focused on solar panel sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Post vendor invoices, prepare and record payments, and maintain AP aging reports
- Record customer invoices, payments, and prepare AR aging reports
- Perform collections efforts for selected invoices
- Record payroll journal entries based on payroll system data
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Assist with month-end close processes
- Support audits and tax return preparations
- Document and update business processes to strengthen internal controls
- Assist with management reporting and financial statement preparation
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in finance accounting
- Proven experience as a staff accountant with demonstrated understanding of the basic tenants of Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Payroll, and General Ledger (GL)
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- Understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end close process
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
- BA or BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
