Job Description
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical components of recycling equipment, as well as designing and overseeing electrical systems for new installations to ensure operational efficiency and safety in the clean energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical components of production recycling equipment
- Design, implement, and oversee electrical systems for new equipment installations
- Install instrumentation and electrical components for continuous process monitoring
- Perform preventative and general maintenance on electronic and pneumatic equipment
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to maintain production line efficiency
- Run conduit, pull wire, change motors, and maintain lighting systems
- Plan and manage upgrades to the facility's electrical infrastructure
- Work with contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with codes and standards
- Maintain, modify, and troubleshoot Distributive Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
- Create, review, and release detailed design and operational maintenance documentation
- Interpret, update, and create plant electrical diagrams
- Conduct analysis of Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMEA)
- Conduct failure analysis and develop corrective actions for the FRACAS process
- Contribute to facility designs and stay updated on recent innovations
Requirements
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial electrical engineering design and development, preferably within the recycling or sustainability sector
- Experience with equipment installation, power distribution, and facility electrical infrastructure
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment
- Familiarity with electrical safety standards and local/national electrical codes (e.g., NEC)
- Ability to handle a physical workload
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex electrical issues quickly and effectively
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to plan and prioritize multiple projects, especially by using tech-enabled project management tools like Smartsheet
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
