Job Description
The Engineering Director will lead a team of engineers in the design and construction of a solar panel recycling facility, overseeing project management and technical contributions while fostering a collaborative environment. This role requires relocation to Cedartown, Georgia, and involves managing multiple engineering projects to support the company's mission in the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers in electrical, controls automation, and mechanical disciplines.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of systems for the recycling facility.
- Utilize project management software to track and manage engineering projects.
- Act as an individual contributor in mechanical or electrical engineering tasks.
- Assist in recruiting top talent for the engineering team.
- Develop training and development plans for team members.
- Ensure a smooth transition and relocation of the engineering team to Cedartown.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of industry experience, with at least 5 years in an Engineering Manager role overseeing direct reports.
- Strong background in mechanical, electrical, and/or automation engineering.
- Proficiency in design software and tools relevant to the field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale engineering projects.
- Proficiency in project management software, specifically Smartsheet.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to relocate to Cedartown, Georgia within 8-12 months.
