Job Description
The Senior Staff Accountant at Sila is responsible for managing daily accounting operations, supporting month-end close activities, and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, with a focus on areas like fixed assets, inventory, and COGS in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day accounting operations and period-end close functions
- Prepare and post journal entries and perform account reconciliations
- Support the preparation of financial statements
- Maintain fixed asset ledger and calculate monthly depreciation
- Assist in inventory and COGS reconciliation processes
- Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts such as prepaids and inventory
- Support the annual audit process and respond to external auditor inquiries
- Conduct technical accounting research and document accounting issues
- Refine accounting policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls
- Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external financial reporting
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in the manufacturing industry
- CPA certification preferred or actively pursuing CPA certification
- Experience with standard costing and variance analysis
- Fixed asset and/or inventory experience preferred
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting concepts
- Experience with large ERP systems preferred, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient with Google Apps including Gmail, Docs, and Sheets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $105,000 to $123,000
Work environment: Onsite
