Job Description

The Senior Sales Development Representative at Laminar is responsible for proactively identifying and engaging construction teams through cold outreach to generate new business opportunities, while collaborating with marketing and product teams to refine outreach strategies and help scale the company's digital construction services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and reach out to construction teams to introduce Laminar's services and set up introductory calls.
  • Continuously improve outreach strategies by experimenting with messaging, channels, and engagement tactics based on data and insights.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align outreach efforts and share feedback.
  • Build and refine outreach processes and systems to scale the sales development engine as the company expands its client base and service lines.

Requirements

  • Experience in B2B sales, ideally in construction technology, with the ability to engage decision-makers and guide them through a sales process.
  • Mastery in communication, being a confident and engaging communicator who can make complex ideas simple and compelling, and comfortable talking to both hands-on construction teams and senior business leaders.
  • Demonstrated ownership and leadership qualities, including being unafraid of rejection, not taking no as the end of the conversation, and enjoying experimenting with new ways to connect and add value.
  • Ability to read between the lines, spot opportunities, and adapt approaches based on what is working, with a focus on opening doors and not just booking meetings.
  • Proficiency in using data and insights to continuously improve outreach strategies, messaging, channels, and engagement tactics.
  • Physical and mental capacity to perform proactive outreach, including making cold calls and engaging with busy construction professionals.
  • Ability to work closely with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align efforts and share feedback.
  • Willingness to grow expertise in construction or digital project delivery, with the understanding that training and tools will be provided.
  • Ability to influence and persuade, with an extensive network in the construction and/or tech start-up industries considered a plus.
  • Ambition to take on bigger responsibilities and grow within the organization, demonstrating leadership potential.
  • A genuine interest in helping people and transforming how construction teams adopt technology, with a focus on creating positive impact.
  • A commitment to continuous learning, development, and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to adapt outreach processes and systems to help refine the SDR engine as the company expands its service lines and client base.
