Job Description
This role involves leading pilot-scale battery manufacturing operations, overseeing prototype development, process optimization, and transitioning next-generation battery technologies from R&D to mass production, while managing customer programs and cross-functional teams in a cutting-edge AI-driven battery company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage pilot-scale cell manufacturing and prototype execution for various cell designs.
- Establish pilot production lines, define SOPs, and oversee QA/QC processes.
- Manage the technology scale-up process to prepare R&D battery concepts for mass production.
- Serve as Product Execution Director for technical customer programs, ensuring delivery of validated battery components and systems.
- Drive the NPI process and apply quality assurance methodologies like DFMEA and DVP&R.
- Develop and maintain relationships with OEM organizations to understand product application and service needs.
- Provide cross-functional leadership to bridge R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Deep experience at a senior level in pilot-scale cell manufacturing, prototype development, or technical operations management, taking the lead on new projects globally.
- Core expertise in Lithium-ion, Solid-state, and Li-metal battery chemistry and the manufacturing processes associated with them.
- Expertise in NPI processes, process optimization, and hands-on experience in SOP definition, scale-up, and quality control.
- Direct experience managing technical customer program management and setting technical roadmaps with external clients.
- Proficiency in using DFMEA and DVP R methodologies in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
