Job Description
The Senior Project Manager will oversee the design, regulation, construction, and execution of off-grid microgrids, gas-fired power plants, and solar storage systems for data centers, ensuring project success, compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of behind-the-meter BTM, microgrids, gas-fired power plants, and solar storage systems for data centers
- Support project design during the planning phase to ensure operational feasibility, vendor alignment, and regulatory compliance
- Manage relationships with regulatory bodies, utilities, and local authorities to secure approvals and ensure compliance
- Execute infrastructure updates such as natural gas pipeline connections and lateral builds
- Lead EPC oversight, ensuring vendors and contractors meet project timelines, quality, safety, and contractual standards
- Monitor construction progress, identify delays, and resolve bottlenecks to maintain project momentum
- Serve as the primary point of contact for senior leadership during construction, providing updates and addressing concerns
Requirements
- Experience in overseeing the execution of behind-the-meter BTM, or off-grid microgrids, gas-fired power plants, and solar storage systems for hyperscale and colocation data centers.
- Ability to engage during the design phase to ensure that execution details are integrated into project plans from the outset, including providing insights into natural gas requirements, operational feasibility, vendor alignment, and operational feasibility risks.
- Experience managing relationships with regulatory bodies, utilities, and local authorities to secure necessary approvals and ensure compliance.
- Proven track record of executing infrastructure updates required for the site, including natural gas pipeline connection and potential lateral builds.
- Experience leading EPC oversight activities, ensuring all vendors and contractors deliver in alignment with expectations and timelines of data center customers.
- Ability to monitor construction progress against the agreed-upon schedule, proactively identify and resolve delays or bottlenecks to maintain project momentum.
- Experience conducting regular site visits and progress reviews, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and contractual obligations.
- Ability to serve as the primary point of contact for senior leadership during the construction phase, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction with project execution.
- Educational background or experience sufficient to support project management responsibilities in energy infrastructure projects (specific degree requirements are not explicitly stated but implied).
