Job Description
The Supervisor, Project Accounting is responsible for managing and ensuring accurate financial accounting and reporting for SB Energy's Data Center Projects, overseeing a team, and collaborating with internal teams and external auditors to maintain compliance with US GAAP and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for Data Center projects.
- Perform account reconciliations, journal entries, and ensure accurate financial data management.
- Oversee and review the work of junior and senior accountants, including approval of transactions.
- Research, document, and ensure compliance with US GAAP for all transactions and technical accounting issues.
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
- Develop and maintain relationships with project managers to ensure accurate reflection of transactions in ledgers.
- Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements and reports, including lease accounting (ASC842).
- Ensure internal controls are followed, reports are properly approved, and documentation is retained.
- Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure understanding and accuracy of financial statements and data.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 5 years in general accounting.
- Audit experience is required.
- Supervisory experience of 1-3 years.
- ERP system experience is required, preferred NetSuite.
- Proficiency with Excel, including pivot tables and formulas, and proficiency with other Microsoft Office products.
- Experience working in project accounting within Data Center is preferred.
- Familiarity with financial reporting for Data Center and the nuances of Data center tax incentives is preferred.
- Detailed understanding of the life cycle of projects and project accounting principles.
- Research and document technical accounting issues in accordance with US GAAP.
- Work closely with external auditors on the annual audit of affiliated legal entities based on GAAP.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of management and clients, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be highly detail-oriented and results-focused, with strong organizing, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
- Strong work ethic, team player, and high degree of professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Travel up to 5 domestic trips as required.
- Ability to perform all aspects of work with a high degree of effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Must be able to perform physical demands associated with the role (implied by the need for travel and working in an office environment).

Compensation/salary range: $100,000 - $140,000 with discretionary annual bonus and long-term incentive plan
