Job Description
The Senior Manager WECC Director is responsible for leading transmission planning, interconnection projects, and grid deliverability assessments within the WECC market, supporting renewable energy integration and large-load interconnections to ensure reliable and efficient energy infrastructure development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage interconnection projects within the WECC region, including Pacific North West.
- Support interconnection process, transmission strategy, and deliverability planning for renewable energy projects.
- Oversee generation interconnections and ensure compliance with WECC Transmission Provider requirements.
- Conduct cost impact analysis and identify optimal Points of Interconnection for large-load data centers.
- Evaluate future resource portfolio needs and identify suitable interconnection locations based on grid infrastructure.
- Submit interconnection applications and manage the Large Generator Interconnection Agreement (LGIA) process.
- Manage large load interconnection applications and processes with utilities.
- Perform technical analysis for power grid injection and system impact assessments.
- Negotiate Generation Load Interconnection Agreements and review technical documentation for accuracy.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in transmission and interconnection within the WECC market.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of WECC Transmission processes and other PNW Provider processes.
- Experience in generator interconnection, transmission planning, and tariff processes, with a focus on WECC utilities such as NV Energy, PacifiCorp, SRP, etc.
- Proven ability to manage complex interconnection projects and technical studies.
- Experience with large-load integration and grid deliverability planning.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Compensation/salary range: $150,000 - $220,000 with potential discretionary bonus
