Key Responsibilities

  • Support and develop integrated fuel-supply strategy, demand forecast, reliability criteria, contingency plan, and commercial roadmap for development and operations.
  • Provide assessment of upstream supply, interstate and intrastate pipeline transportation, lateral and interconnect options, capacity availability, pressure/quality requirements, storage, balancing, and redundancy.
  • Lead or support requests for proposals, commercial evaluations, negotiations, and execution of gas supply, transportation, interconnection, balancing, and related agreements.
  • Coordinate fuel assumptions and facility requirements with generation technology selection, heat-rate modeling, dispatch profiles, air permitting, site layout, pipeline engineering, schedule, and project economics.
  • Manage relationships with producers, marketers, pipeline companies, utilities, consultants, counsel, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Identify basis, congestion, curtailment, credit, capacity, construction, regulatory, force-majeure, and operational risks and recommend mitigations.
  • Track pipeline/lateral development, metering and regulation facilities, permits, easements, procurement, construction, testing, nominations readiness, and first-gas milestones.
  • Review and develop fuel budgets, forecasts, decision materials, and contract-compliance processes; support lender, investor, customer, and internal diligence.
  • Plan the transition of fuel scheduling, nominations, imbalance management, settlement, and emergency procedures to the operating organization.
  • Confirm target pipelines, lateral/interconnect ownership model, firm capacity requirements, dual-fuel or backup-fuel scope, and operating dispatch assumptions.
  • Confirm commercial approval limits, credit/hedging responsibilities, 24/7 operational support expectations, and direct reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, economics, business, energy management, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in natural gas supply, transportation, origination, trading, pipeline development, or fuel procurement supporting power generation or large industrial loads.
  • Strong knowledge of physical gas markets, pipeline tariffs and operations, transportation contracts, nominations/balancing, pricing, basis risk, and reliability planning.
  • Experience negotiating commercial agreements and coordinating technical, legal, credit, regulatory, finance, and operations stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze fuel demand, heat-rate and dispatch assumptions, market data, transportation alternatives, and commercial risk.
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship-management, quantitative, presentation, and decision-support skills.
  • Experience with PJM-region gas-electric coordination and relevant pipeline systems preferred.
  • Location: Hybrid or On Site near Piketon, OH. 60% Travel if Hybrid.
  • Base Pay - $140,000 - $170,000
  • The pay range mentioned above is a guideline. We tailor each offer based on your unique skills, experience, location, and market benchmarks—while ensuring internal parity across our teams.
