Job Description
The position involves leading the strategy and management of utility-scale solar, energy storage, and load projects, providing technical and market analysis, and supporting development, financing, and interconnection processes within a dynamic renewable energy company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the strategy for utility-scale solar, energy storage, and load projects.
- Review and develop load applications, study agreements, and interconnection agreements, coordinating with engineering teams.
- Manage third-party consultants and perform market analysis, power flow, and grid integration studies.
- Provide critical review of third-party reports related to transmission and interconnection.
- Track transmission expansion plans and related policies affecting project interconnection and development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of related interconnection experience.
- Extensive knowledge of interconnection process for ISOs in the USA.
- Working knowledge of general FERC interconnection process and specific requirements for all ISOs in the USA.
- Proven problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in applying established transmission techniques, procedures or standards.
- Basic knowledge or experience running power flows in PSS E, TARA, PSLF, or Power World.
- Location in Redwood City, CA, or the San Francisco Bay Area with a hybrid in-office/remote work setup.
- Up to 25 domestic travel required.
