Job Description
A Corporate Accounting Supervisor responsible for managing the company's accounting operations, including month-end close, financial reporting, internal controls, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and IFRS standards, while collaborating with various finance teams to support audits and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
- Oversee preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and internal reporting requirements.
- Provide technical accounting guidance related to GAAP, IFRS, and parent-company reporting.
- Prepare and review reporting packages for the parent company, including variance analysis and supporting documentation.
- Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide insights for management decision-making.
- Support audits and ensure successful audit outcomes.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting, including SOX compliance.
- Monitor and update accounting policies, procedures, and documentation for compliance and efficiency.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and automation in accounting workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS, with experience preparing reporting packages for a parent or global holding company
- Experience managing month-end close and general ledger activities in a multi-entity or complex environment
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Support and ensure compliance with internal controls over financial reporting, including SOX-related documentation and testing
- Assist with audits and support internal and external audit processes to ensure successful audit outcomes
