Job Description
The Senior System EPM at Samsara is responsible for leading hardware engineering projects from concept to mass production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop high-quality IoT hardware products that support the company's connected operations platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead hardware engineering projects from concept to mass production.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including EE, PD, Firmware, QA, and Supply Chain to ensure project goals are met.
- Manage communication and development processes with internal teams and external partners, including design reviews and approvals.
- Plan and execute engineering builds and collaborate with supply chain and NPI teams for production readiness.
- Ensure timely delivery and high-quality results through coordination with JDM, CM partners, and suppliers.
- Identify innovative methods to reduce time to market, improve product functionality, and lower costs.
- Drive project planning and execution using tools like Microsoft Project, SmartSheets, JIRA, and PLM systems.
Requirements
- 8 years of experience shipping high-volume hardware programs at scale with ODM and JDM partners overseas.
- Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail, prioritization, and triage of complicated issues.
- Adaptive attitude to fast-evolving industry and rapid development cycles.
- Self-motivated, proactive, creative, and critical problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with project planning tools such as Microsoft Project and SmartSheets.
- Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence for issue tracking and project summary.
- Familiarity with PLM systems for BOM and ECO management.
- Ability to travel internationally, depending on project needs, up to 20% of the time.
- Proximity to an international airport to facilitate travel.
- BS in a relevant technical field such as Electrical Engineering (EE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), or Computer Science (CS), or equivalent experience.
