Job Description

The role involves managing the Vehicle and Asset Data Platform at Samsara, focusing on optimizing data acquisition from vehicles and ensuring high-quality data for various product features. The position requires a technical Product Manager to drive innovation and integration with external partners while supporting fleet operations across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize the data acquisition process from vehicles and assets to capture complete and high-quality data.
  • Evolve the capabilities and roadmap for standardizing and centralizing vehicle systems data.
  • Understand and support the use of vehicle diagnostics across the Samsara portfolio.
  • Collaborate with downstream product teams on data capabilities.
  • Manage the intake process for vehicle data platform needs.
  • Improve the consistency of vehicle data ingestion.
  • Make data-driven decisions to prioritize integrations with Vehicle OEMs.
  • Generate insights about device healthiness and data accuracy.
  • Develop a new Telematics offer for Heavy Duty vehicles.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on quarterly release plans and long-term roadmap.
  • Communicate roadmap and priorities across product line leadership.
  • Partner with customer-facing teams to close strategic accounts and resolve escalations.

Requirements

  • 5 years of job experience in relevant product, technical, and/or business roles.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience (i.e., software engineering experience).
  • Strong understanding of how to build for enterprise-scale.
  • Strong technical understanding, with an ability to grasp technical concepts and establish credibility with engineers.
  • A proven track record of delivering outstanding results for customers and the business, managing significant complexity and bold timelines.
  • Demonstrated experience defining and executing product roadmap for technical areas, and using analytics data to measure progress toward goals and make investment choices.
  • Excellent communication skills, must be comfortable presenting to customers and internal audiences, including senior executives.
