Job Description
The role involves leading the development and strategic direction of Samsara's Vehicle and Asset Data Platform, focusing on data acquisition, standardization, and integration for connected vehicle ecosystems to enable reliable, high-quality data-driven features across the company's products.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the long-term vision and roadmap for the Vehicle and Asset Data Platform.
- Own and optimize the data acquisition process from connected devices to ensure complete, high-quality data ingestion.
- Evolve platform capabilities for standardizing and centralizing vehicle data to support product features.
- Improve data consistency and accuracy across the vehicle data ingestion pipeline.
- Lead OEM integration efforts and track vehicle market share trends to inform partnerships.
- Develop new Telematics offerings for emerging vehicle types.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to prioritize vehicle data platform needs.
- Communicate and evangelize the platform roadmap and priorities to leadership and stakeholders.
- Partner with customer-facing teams to close strategic accounts and maintain top-tier customer relationships.
Requirements
- A proven track-record of driving measurable business impact through shipping product, not just managing activity or competencies.
- Demonstrated experience in defining and executing a product roadmap for complex technical platform areas e.g., core infrastructure, external APIs, data platforms.
- Strong technical acumen, with a deep understanding of how to build for enterprise-scale, reliability, and performance capable of establishing immediate credibility with engineers.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in significant ambiguity, using an analytical and data-driven approach to measure progress toward goals and make difficult investment choices.
- Excellent communication skills, with comfort in presenting to customers, internal audiences, and senior executives.
- Ten (10) years of job experience in relevant technical Product Management or equivalent roles.
- BS or MS degree in STEM fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience (e.g., software engineering background).
