Job Description
An Engineering Manager at Samsara oversees and develops engineering teams responsible for building scalable, mission-critical platform infrastructure and services that support IoT products, driving innovation and ensuring high-quality, impactful solutions for global customers.
Responsibilities
- •Lead and develop engineering teams through hiring, mentoring, and fostering professional growth.
- •Define project plans, roadmaps, and collaborate on developing next-generation platform technology.
- •Develop features and infrastructure enhancements to improve customer experience and product impact.
- •Establish operational standards and ensure high-quality delivery of services and features.
- •Contribute to shaping company culture by promoting leadership values and operating principles.
- •Participate in strategic planning and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical and business goals.
- •Drive technical strategy and set quarterly goals to prioritize product engineering efforts.
- •Ensure the reliability and scalability of application services and infrastructure.
- •Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing, inclusive engineering team.
Requirements
- •Minimum of 8 years of relevant software engineering work experience.
- •At least 3 years of hands-on technical management experience leading engineering teams.
- •Experience building scalable, mission-critical SaaS applications.
- •Experience operating, maintaining, and improving upon large-scale application services.
- •Strong interpersonal communication skills including listening, speaking, and writing, and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment.
- •Proven track record of delivering products and features that customers love.
- •Proven record of attracting top talent and coaching the team.
- •Proficiency in English language skills.
- •B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline (preferred but not explicitly mandatory).
- •Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional consensus and drive cross-team collaboration.
