Job Description

The role involves managing and optimizing the Sales Engineering Operations team at Samsara, supporting technical enablement, process improvement, event planning, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance the effectiveness of the global sales engineering efforts in the Industrial IoT space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a high-performing team of embedded Operations professionals supporting the Sales Engineering team.
  • Develop and maintain programs that support the global Sales Engineering team, including planning, capacity management, and productivity tools.
  • Ensure effective communication of career development frameworks and maintain a strong talent pipeline for the SE team.
  • Build and foster cross-functional partnerships with internal teams such as Sales, Product, Marketing, Operations, and Sales Enablement.
  • Plan and execute SE events, including logistics and project management for large-scale conferences like the SE Summit.
  • Collaborate with Product, Sales, and SE leadership to develop technical enablement strategies for field success.
  • Create operational performance reports for presentation to the Executive Leadership Team.

Requirements

  • A passion for new technologies, especially as they apply to the Industrial IoT space
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • 7 years of experience in Consulting, Finance, Business Operations, Sales Strategy Operations or other analytical role
  • 3 years leading a team and/or program as part of a GTM (Go-To-Market) function
  • Experience building processes and enablement strategies resulting in measurable increases in organizational productivity and efficiency
  • A firm understanding of business process automation, and experience driving cross-functional initiatives to completion
  • Enthusiastic about enablement program management supporting technical sales and product teams
  • Fluency in AI terminology and strategy, especially in business process design
  • Understanding of software development and release cycles, with a focus on New Product Introduction and technical enablement
  • Experience building and managing intake processes and roadmaps to organize and report on team productivity
  • Experience leading planning and execution of a multi-day conference-style event for an audience of 200 stakeholders
  • Ability to build and maintain a comprehensive program supporting Samsara’s Global Sales Engineering Team, including participation in annual operating planning, capacity planning, GTM planning, and managing all productivity software and tooling used by the SE Team
  • Ability to ensure a healthy, well-communicated career framework for Sales Engineers, including partnering with the People Team to maintain a strong talent funnel
  • Ability to ensure strong cross-functional partnerships across all internal teams, including Sales, Product, Marketing, Operations, and Sales Enablement organizations
  • Ability to enable SE Operations team to champion own SE event planning such as the annual SE Summit, requiring expert knowledge in logistics and project management
  • Ability to partner with Product, Sales, and SE Leadership to drive technical enablement strategy that strongly equips SEs for success in the field
  • Ability to build strong operational performance reporting to be delivered directly to the Executive Leadership Team
  • Residing in the US (or authorized to work in the US)
