Job Description
The Engineering Manager will lead and develop engineering teams responsible for building and maintaining scalable, mission-critical infrastructure and platform systems that support Samsara's IoT products, driving innovation and ensuring high standards of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop engineering teams through hiring, mentoring, and fostering professional growth.
- Define project plans, roadmaps, and collaborate on developing next-generation platform technology.
- Develop features and infrastructure enhancements to improve customer experience and product impact.
- Establish operational standards and ensure high-quality delivery of services and features.
- Contribute to shaping company culture by embodying leadership values and operating principles.
- Participate in strategic planning and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical and business goals.
- Drive technical strategy and oversee the delivery of scalable, mission-critical SaaS applications.
- Ensure reliability and performance of application services through operational improvements.
Requirements
- Experience building scalable, mission-critical SaaS applications.
- Experience operating, maintaining, and improving upon large-scale application services.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills including listening, speaking, and writing, and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment.
- Strong track record of delivering products and features that customers love.
- Proven record of attracting top talent and coaching the team.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant software engineering work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on technical management experience.
- Proficiency in English language skills.
- B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline (preferred but not explicitly mandatory).
- Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional consensus and drive cross-team collaboration.
