Job Description
The role involves leading a small IT engineering team to develop, implement, and support scalable software systems, automation, and AI projects that enhance operational efficiency, primarily in a cloud environment, while collaborating with global teams and driving strategic technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead the India IT engineering team, overseeing critical automation, AI, and DevOps projects.
- Evaluate, develop, and implement internal SaaS engineering automation systems and AI projects to improve efficiency at scale.
- Manage technical requirements gathering, gap analysis, and contribute to backlog grooming for IT solutions.
- Develop operational metrics and dashboards to provide performance insights to business leadership.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to assess their impact on organizational applications.
- Implement and support business technology products and IT applications, ensuring best practices and DevOps methodologies.
- Coordinate with US leadership to support performance management and day-to-day supervision of India team members.
- Ensure alignment with company cultural principles and focus on customer success, long-term building, and inclusive teamwork.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, engineering or related field
- 10 years of experience in an IT Engineering role, with at least 3 years of managing small teams
- 6 years experience in software development and infrastructure
- Related experience in architecture, design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems, applications and major SaaS solutions
- Strong experience working with APIs in Javascript Node.js, Python or Go
- Strong expertise in AWS and GCP cloud platforms
- Exposure to scale in a SaaS-first IT environment
- Experience with Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, Zoom, Github, Zendesk, etc.
- Strong experience with Terraform
- Experience with containerization tools, including Docker
- Solid understanding of source code versioning and exposure to Git, GitHub
- Must be detail oriented, self-organized, be committed to quality and capable of tracking multiple work streams simultaneously
- Ability to work in a fast-changing, dynamic, and agile environment, including the ability to manage time and maintain an excellent work ethic
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
