Job Description
The Engineering Manager at Samsara will lead teams in developing impactful features for the company's Safety products, manage engineering teams, and ensure alignment with business objectives while fostering a culture of performance and accountability.
Responsibilities
- •Lead teams in delivering products and capabilities that contribute to Samsara's products and revenue.
- •Manage a team of engineers, ensuring alignment with business objectives and optimizing team productivity.
- •Oversee technical solutions that support both immediate needs and future growth.
- •Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to align technical roadmaps with product and business goals.
- •Conduct regular performance reviews, address underperformance, and mentor team members for growth.
- •Hire, develop, and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing team.
Requirements
- •7 years of engineering experience, including 2 years managing teams of engineers.
- •Proven expertise in developing embedded software applications.
- •Proven track record of applying best practices in development, testing, and deployment, with a hands-on approach to code quality and architecture reviews.
- •Demonstrated ability to spearhead strategic initiatives, drive alignment across teams, and influence without direct authority.
- •Strong experience in project management, managing multiple projects simultaneously using agile development methods and tools.
- •Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and improving release processes.
- •Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale changes while maintaining team productivity and engagement during transitions.
- •Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
