Job Description
The Logistics Manager will oversee and manage logistics operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods while maintaining a customer-centric approach. This role involves developing relationships with transportation providers, ensuring compliance with shipping regulations, and optimizing logistics processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and coordinate transportation for outbound freight, focusing on Parcel and LTL.
- Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
- Oversee freight payment and audit processes for financial accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international transportation laws and customs regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies to streamline logistics processes and manage freight costs.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align logistics strategies with business objectives.
- Partner with support teams to establish standards for high-quality customer interactions.
- Implement systems for seamless customer interactions and quick issue resolution.
- Stay informed of logistics technology advancements to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Develop contingency plans for supply chain disruptions.
- Foster a culture focused on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
- Champion and embed Samsara's cultural principles within the team.
Requirements
- Proven experience in logistics operations, specializing in parcel, LTL, and freight pay.
- 5 years of experience in a logistics management role, preferably in a supply chain related environment.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end supply chain and logistics processes.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data to make informed strategic decisions.
- Ability to thrive in a highly driven environment while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to quickly master new skills, procedures, and systems.
- Demonstrated customer-centric approach with the ability to prioritize customer satisfaction and tailor logistics strategies to meet client needs effectively.
- Ability to ensure compliance with local, national, and international laws affecting the transportation of goods, including customs regulations.
