Job Description
The Deal Desk Director for Enterprise at Samsara is responsible for leading the deal governance process, supporting complex enterprise transactions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive growth and operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Sales and Sales leadership in shaping complex Enterprise transactions
- Collaborate with Sales and Finance to develop and execute deal strategies, including pricing and legal considerations
- Use data and reporting to inform decision-making and improve deal processes
- Ensure operational excellence to enhance Sales and Customer experience
- Build and lead a high-performing, inclusive Deal Desk team
- Partner with cross-functional teams to influence deal outcomes and achieve financial goals
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of combined experience in Deal Desk, Finance, Sales, Sales Operations, Revenue Operations or equivalent roles.
- Demonstrated experience in complex deal negotiations.
- Financial acumen, with the ability to translate corporate financial goals into deal support strategy.
- Ability to hire, manage, and develop talent and lead a high-performing team.
- Ability to work with senior management and Enterprise Customers, distill key concepts, and influence business decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to synthesize data into actionable insights, make data-driven conclusions, and establish recurring reporting to monitor performance.
- Proficiency in CRM, CPQ, and CLM tools, and familiarity with downstream systems such as ERP and reporting visualizations.
- Experience managing a Deal Desk or Commercial Incubation team within a high-growth SaaS business at scale (e.g., $1 billion ARR).
- Proficiency in Salesforce and NetSuite.
- Ability to work closely with senior leadership across Sales, Finance, Operations, Legal, and Product to influence deal outcomes and achieve corporate financial goals.
- Ability to execute at a high pace and ensure continuous improvement through business insights and cross-functional influence.
- Ability to provide direct support to Sales and Sales leadership to help shape complex Enterprise transactions.
- Ability to utilize data and real-time reporting to support decision-making, executive communication, and identify areas of improvement.
- Demonstrated operational excellence to provide a delightful Sales and Customer experience.
- Ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships, proactively communicate, and iterate on feedback.
