Job Description
The Corporate Accountant II at Samsara is responsible for supporting month-end close activities, preparing journal entries, and managing account reconciliations, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and process improvements in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform various general ledger (GL) month-end close activities
- Prepare journal entries and related account reconciliations
- Manage assigned accounts such as inventory, deferred commissions, securities, complex bank arrangements, and accounts payable/receivable
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procure-to-pay, treasury, payroll, sales, and supply chain
- Identify and implement process improvements in the close process
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting.
- 2 years relevant accounting experience.
- Able to work with a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of operational accounting processes including accruals, account reconciliation, month-end and year-end close.
- Must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Experience working under strict deadlines and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Experience with NetSuite.
- Strong organization skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a fast learner, multi-tasker with a strong desire to learn and a can-do attitude.
- Critical thinker, able to implement scalable processes.
- Must be able to work with and support highly visible accounting areas such as inventory, deferred commissions, marketable securities and investments, complex bank account arrangements, and accounts payable and receivable related accounts.
- Must be able to develop relationships and work effectively with teams outside of accounting including procure-to-pay, treasury, payroll, sales compensation, order-to-cash, and supply chain.
- Must be able to support process improvements by identifying weaknesses in the close process.
- Must be able to work in a remote position if residing in Canada.
