Job Description

The Senior Director of Commercial in Australia will lead the development, structuring, and execution of industrial decarbonization projects using Rondo's Heat Battery technology, overseeing strategic growth, team management, and stakeholder relationships to drive multi-hundred-million-dollar bookings and expand market presence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project origination, structuring, and commercialization efforts across Australia
  • Oversee a portfolio of industrial decarbonization projects from initial contact to deal execution
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing commercial team
  • Translate corporate growth goals into actionable development strategies
  • Prioritize and develop high-value opportunities with cross-functional input
  • Drive origination of key strategic opportunities and build a scalable pipeline in Australia
  • Identify and evaluate emerging markets, segments, and partnerships for decarbonization potential
  • Develop and review commercial terms, deal models, and negotiation strategies
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, partners, utilities, and regulators
  • Partner with internal teams to align commercial efforts with technical feasibility and risk standards
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
  • 12 years of experience in commercial development, project development, or business development in renewable energy, cleantech, or industrial decarbonization sectors.
  • Has successfully built a book of business in the 100 millions of dollars from origination to close.
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary teams in originating and closing complex projects or infrastructure deals.
  • Strategic thinking and financial fluency to assess deal structures, evaluate risk, and drive toward scalable business models.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, including experience managing executives and external stakeholders.
  • High integrity and judgment in navigating complex negotiations, partnerships, and customer relationships.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and a rigorous, metrics-driven approach to pipeline management and revenue forecasting.
