Job Description

The Consultant will lead stakeholder engagement and management for the Multiple Micronutrient Supplements project in Kano, Nigeria, focusing on the costing of strategies and interventions to optimize resource mobilization for nutrition programs. The role involves collaboration with state governments and partner organizations to develop sustainable financing options and support the transition from iron and folic acid supplementation to multiple micronutrient supplements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead stakeholder engagement in Kano state for MMS introduction and scale-up.
  • Conduct project kickoff landscaping to connect with government stakeholders.
  • Identify key stakeholders and their priorities for MMS scale-up.
  • Review and update a comprehensive database of stakeholders.
  • Support the development and costing of the MMS introduction scale-up roadmap.
  • Adopt costing methodology and collect costing information for analysis.
  • Provide costing technical support to the state MMS taskforce.
  • Synthesize findings into a sharable document.
  • Identify sustainable financing strategic options for MMS scale-up.
  • Co-create recommended financing mechanisms with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in a relevant field such as economics, statistics, finance, accounting, health management, or similar.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the public health sector in Nigeria, including health financing, stakeholder engagement, costing government strategies, and nutrition products introduction and scale-up.
  • Demonstrated fluency in quantitative analysis, including advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and facilitating meetings.
  • Ability to work in a flexible team environment and across different time zones.
  • Excellent client management skills and demonstrated experience of working with country-level stakeholders, as well as with multilateral organizations and NGOs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional fluency in English.
