Water Resources Engineer III - Ecological Restoration

As an Engineer III, you’ll lead the technical design and plan development for stream and wetland restoration and stormwater management projects. Your day may include reviewing survey data, developing HEC-RAS or TR-55 models, creating grading plans in Civil 3D, or coordinating with permitting specialists and PMs. You’ll work with junior engineers to produce high-quality plan sets , run QA/QC reviews, and communicate with clients and agencies to support approval processes. In the field, you’ll perform site assessments and support QA/QC during construction to ensure plans are implemented as designed. Whether it’s creating concept plans or overseeing agency submittals, your work will help deliver real restoration on the ground.

• A Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or ecological engineering • PE license in the appropriate state • 5+ years of professional experience in restoration, stormwater, or site development • Advanced capability in stream, wetland, or stormwater management design, including feasibility studies, concept design, and restoration plans development • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and relevant modeling tools (e.g., HEC-RAS , FlowMaster , TR-55 , GIS , MicroStation ) • Strong understanding of stream geomorphology, hydraulics, sediment transport , and/or stormwater BMP design • Ability to communicate directly with clients and regulatory agencies • Comfort leading design work with minimal oversight and supporting QA/QC in the field • Experience coordinating work within multi-disciplinary teams
