Job Description
At RES, we are dedicated to restoring and protecting the land and water that sustain us.
Key Responsibilities
- You might start your day organizing a field sampling effort for a complex site assessment, coordinating with regulatory agencies, or mentoring junior staff on SOPs and safety protocols. In the field, you’ll collect environmental data, troubleshoot logistics, and ensure everything from groundwater measurements to sediment samples is performed to spec.
- Back in the office, you’ll analyze large datasets, review lab results, and translate complex findings into clear, accurate technical reports. You’ll work closely with interdisciplinary teams and support project managers to ensure deliverables are not only completed on time—but are thoughtful, thorough, and compliant with regional regulatory requirements. This will be a project manager role. You would be expected to complete the RES project manager program as part of your employment.
- Are highly collaborative and enjoy contributing to team-based scientific problem solving
- Are intellectually curious and committed to continuous learning
- Possess exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability
- Can confidently lead field teams and mentor junior staff in technical procedures
- Organized and goals driven
- Please note that the “Day in the Life” section is not intended to be an exhaustive list of job duties, but rather a representative snapshot of typical responsibilities and work experiences at RES.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of professional experience (or 5+ years with an advanced degree)
- Advanced experience in environmental site assessment and/or groundwater/soil remediation
- Proficient in field sampling procedures and data collection techniques
- Experience managing large datasets and analyzing complex environmental data
- Familiarity with regional regulatory requirements and agency SOPs
- Strong technical report writing skills
- Experience mentoring junior scientists and leading field teams
- Experience with the FDEP PRP program
