Job Description
The Site Reliability Engineer at Redwood Materials is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available and scalable systems, automating infrastructure management, and supporting the company's efforts to scale operations globally within the sustainable energy and battery recycling industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect business and technical requirements to design highly available, scalable systems with defined SLOs
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to implement complete systems that meet business needs
- Identify opportunities to automate deployment and management of IT infrastructure
- Develop integrations to improve data visibility and system efficiency
- Support deployed systems, troubleshoot issues, and participate in on-call rotation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or any related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) or DevOps related role.
- At least 5 years of experience in an IT or Software Development related role.
- Experience administering IT Infrastructure such as VMware, Active Directory, Windows Server, Linux, Networking, Cloud Infrastructure AWS, Azure, Monitoring.
- Expertise in scripting, coding, automation, and integration with tools such as Python, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, REST, YAML, JSON.
- Experience working with SCADA, OT, MES, or other industrial related software systems.
- Ability to perform the essential job functions safely and successfully in environments that may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Physical ability to perform essential physical requirements such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
- Willingness to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time.
- Availability to work occasional weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
- Willingness to undertake occasional travel.
- The full-time position is located in McCarran, Nevada.
