Job Description
The Senior Shutdown Planner is responsible for leading and managing planning activities for plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and outages, ensuring efficient execution through collaboration with maintenance, engineering, and construction teams to maximize equipment uptime and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage planning activities for plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and outages.
- Develop detailed job plans and preventive maintenance schedules for production lines.
- Coordinate and communicate shutdown schedules and job plan packages across departments.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify safety concerns and schedule conflicts before shutdowns.
- Monitor and adjust shutdown schedules during events to prevent delays and resolve issues.
- Oversee outsourced labor and skills needs during shutdown activities.
- Produce post-shutdown assessments to evaluate successes and identify improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of experience managing industrial projects, either in a maintenance or construction organization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing maintenance planners, with a focus on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Experience with planning software such as Microsoft Project, Wrike, P6, etc.
- Ability to read interrupt prints, drawings, and other technical publications.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting and repairing complex electrical and mechanical systems.
- The position is full-time.
