The Hardware Technical Program Manager at Redwood Materials leads the development, testing, and manufacturing of complex electronics assemblies, overseeing program execution from concept to production while coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, scalable hardware solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead development, testing, and manufacturing of complex electronics assemblies from concept to production
Coordinate cross-functional teams across hardware engineering, validation, supply chain, and operations
Plan and manage prototype and production builds, including materials, logistics, and factory readiness
Oversee system integration, validation testing, and release of boards and flex assemblies
Partner with suppliers and contract manufacturers to drive design for manufacturing, design for test, and yield improvements
Maintain project plans, risk registers, and program dashboards, and proactively manage schedule and resource risks
Serve as primary interface between engineering teams and external manufacturing partners
Provide updates to stakeholders and leadership on project status, risks, and key decisions
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline; an advanced degree is a plus.
At least 5 years of experience in hardware program management, hardware engineering, or manufacturing operations.
Proven success in driving NPI (New Product Introduction) builds and scaling hardware programs to volume production.
Strong understanding of box-level assemblies including PCBs, flex circuits, harnessing, enclosures, and thermal systems.
Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with a proven ability to thrive in high-ambiguity environments.
Willingness to travel to Redwood's sites, suppliers, and contract manufacturers as needed, including travel to Reno, NV and the Bay Area.
Ability to safely perform job duties in both office and production environments, maintaining regular and punctual attendance in alignment with company and regulatory standards.
Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal forms.
Work schedule flexibility to support production needs, including possible extended periods working in the production facility, and occasional work on weekends or alternate shifts (approximately 25%).
Physical ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE.

Compensation range: $153,000 - $248,500 USD
