A Field Service Electrician responsible for supporting solar and battery storage projects through troubleshooting, maintenance, installation, and repair of electrical systems in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems for solar and battery energy storage systems
Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and respond to field service work requests
Install, test, and commission electrical equipment for solar and battery projects
Coordinate field-based electrical work, including oversight of contractors and third-party service providers
Develop and implement standard work instructions for field service activities
Requirements
At least 4 years of experience in electrical troubleshooting and repair, preferably in solar or battery storage systems.
Valid electrician's license.
Journeyman or Master Electrician certification, depending on state requirements.
Relevant certifications such as NABCEP for solar systems, OSHA 10 or 30, or NFPA 70E.
Demonstrated expertise in electrical troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of solar and battery storage systems.
Strong technical skills, attention to quality, and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Ability to independently troubleshoot and repair electrical systems in the field using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, with frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders or stairs, and lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs, including pushing, pulling, overhead reaching, and handling tools or material.
Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces as needed.
Strong hand dexterity for wiring, measuring, and operating specialized electrical tools.
Ability to work in outdoor environments, including exposure to inclement weather, hazardous materials, loud noise, or extreme heat or cold.
Frequent travel required, including weekly trips to field locations.
Ability to work nights, weekends, or be on-call based on operational needs.
