A Field Quality Engineer responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of deployed Battery Energy Storage System assets by investigating field issues, conducting root cause analyses, and implementing corrective actions to improve system performance and reduce failures.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for field quality issues in BESS assets
Lead investigations into recurring failures, abnormal trends, and field incidents
Perform root cause analyses using established methodologies
Develop, document, and verify corrective and preventive actions
Track and analyze quality KPIs such as failure rates and defect trends
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
5 years of experience in field quality, reliability engineering, service engineering, or commissioning support for complex electromechanical or energy systems
Demonstrated experience supporting field-deployed assets such as Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), power electronics, renewable energy systems, or industrial electrical equipment
Experience working directly with field operations, Operations & Maintenance (O M) technicians, and service engineering teams in a production or operational environment
Working knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, fault tree analysis, and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes
Familiarity with field inspection procedures, commissioning documentation, and service records
Ability to perform essential physical tasks such as climbing ladders, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and walking for extended periods in industrial environments
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field locations with frequent travel required up to 40%
Ability to work in conditions that may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while wearing appropriate PPE for extended periods of time
Availability to work weekends, nights, or on-call as needed
Work schedule: Full-time, with availability to work weekends, nights, or on-call as needed
