Job Description
A Business Development Manager for Energy Storage at Redwood Materials is responsible for leading customer engagement, developing project pipelines, and managing commercial proposals for utility-scale battery energy storage systems, supporting the company's growth in sustainable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a pipeline of BESS opportunities across various customer segments.
- Lead customer engagements from initial contact through contract execution.
- Support RFP responses, pricing development, and incentive eligibility strategies.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Commercial, and Finance teams to define and deliver projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in BESS, utility-scale solar, or grid-connected energy systems in a sales capacity.
- Proven success working directly with customers to scope, price, and close complex projects.
- Familiarity with Investment Tax Credit (ITC) structuring and related incentive programs.
- Proficient in commercial pricing models and proposal documentation.
- Ability to develop and manage a pipeline of BESS opportunities across hyper-scalers, utilities, IPPs, and developers.
- Ability to lead customer engagements from initial contact through to contract execution.
- Well networked in the BESS customer ecosystem and able to engage with customers effectively.
- Ability to understand technical aspects sufficiently to work with colleagues to translate customer requirements into robust commercial offerings.
- Support RFP responses, pricing development, and incentive eligibility strategy.
- Ability to collaborate with Engineering, Commercial, and Finance teams to define and deliver projects for execution.
- Comfortable working in a startup environment, demonstrating independence, motivation, and self-starting attitude.

Benefits & Perks
Salary range: $158,000 - $186,000 USD
