Job Description

The role involves originating and developing new business opportunities in renewable energy, particularly community solar and distributed generation projects, by analyzing market conditions, preparing deal materials, and collaborating with internal teams to execute power purchase agreements and other transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain customer relationships to originate new business opportunities
  • Support deal strategy execution and conduct market analysis
  • Prepare and review financial models, proposals, and deal materials for power purchase and offtake agreements
  • Conduct outreach to identify potential customers and market opportunities
  • Analyze market dynamics and develop risk mitigation structures for customers
  • Assist in drafting deal term sheets, negotiations, and internal reviews
  • Collaborate with Legal, FP&A, and Asset Management teams throughout transaction processes
  • Prepare materials for leadership review and market updates

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of selling power
  • Experience in community solar and distributed generation (DG) markets, projects or related resources
  • 3-5 years of experience in energy origination, structured transactions, power purchase agreements (PPAs), or related commercial energy roles
  • An excellent understanding of US power markets and the ability to assess, evaluate, and offer insights into evolving market conditions
  • Working knowledge of RTO operations, electric transmission, and power generation and storage technologies
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including substantial experience in proposal and presentation preparation
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
