Job Description
A Pre-Sales Systems Engineer responsible for designing and presenting storage solutions to enterprise clients, supporting digital transformation initiatives, and driving revenue growth through technical leadership and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and deploy secure, simplified, and sustainable data storage solutions for enterprise clients.
- Understand customer business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Collaborate with sales teams and partners to create strategies that drive revenue and new business.
- Lead technical evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations to demonstrate product capabilities.
- Develop and deliver technical presentations and responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability, testing, and validation of solutions.
- Stay current with industry trends, competitive landscape, and product positioning to promote thought leadership.
- Support the technical aspects of sales processes, including demonstrations and proof of concepts.
Requirements
- Pre-sales experience is required
- 5 or more years of relevant experience in technology, design, and communications
- Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions
- Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts
- Contribute significant portions and/or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs
- Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN, Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP (Google Cloud Platform)
- Installation and configuration experience of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystem, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems
- Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes (K8s), and Microservices architectures
- Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers
- Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical degree, or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with modern web architecture such as LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, Microservices architecture
- Curiosity and passion for technology and explaining new technology platforms and concepts to customers
- Familiarity with storage-intensive applications and their requirements such as structured databases (SQL, Oracle)
