A Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer at Pure Storage is responsible for understanding customer needs, demonstrating technical solutions, and supporting sales efforts in the data storage industry, with a focus on storage architectures, cloud integration, and innovative technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Understand customer business needs and tailor storage solutions accordingly
Collaborate with sales and technical teams to create a seamless customer experience
Present and demonstrate storage products and architectures to clients
Translate customer requirements into innovative technical solutions
Support evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations for storage solutions
Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability and performance testing
Develop technical materials such as whitepapers and presentations to support sales and marketing
Stay current with industry trends, competitors, and emerging storage architectures
Support the sales process through RFP, RFI, and RFQ responses
Maintain expertise in storage architectures, networking, cloud, and virtualization technologies
Requirements
Pre-sales experience of 5 or more years supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions.
Must have a familiarity with modern web architecture such as the LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, and microservices architecture.
Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage solutions and contributing significant portions or leading responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, and SAN.
Previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environments.
Experience with installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystems, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems.
Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, containers, Kubernetes (k8s), and microservices architectures (plus).
Curiosity and passion for technology, with the ability to explain and demonstrate new technology platforms and concepts to customers.
Familiarity with storage-intensive applications and their requirements, such as structured databases like SQL and Oracle (highly desirable).
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
