Job Description

The job involves managing payroll processing for a company, including bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payroll, ensuring compliance with tax laws and internal controls, and resolving payroll inquiries. The ideal candidate should have experience in multi-state payroll, accounting activities, and a strong understanding of payroll regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Process US Bi-Weekly, Semi-Monthly, and Monthly payroll and Off Cycle processing.
  • Ensure accuracy of employee earnings and deductions in compliance with payroll tax and legal requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with payroll internal controls and update related documentation.
  • Manage year-end payroll and W-2 processing and government reporting.
  • Resolve payroll inquiries and follow up using ServiceNow.
  • Support business process strategies for payroll efficiency and productivity.
  • Process payroll check exceptions and court-ordered deductions.
  • Perform journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely reporting and payment of withholding taxes to appropriate agencies.
  • Facilitate understanding of payroll requirements and procedures among management and employees.
  • Resolve escalated payroll issues and provide expert knowledge on special payrolls and taxation.

Requirements

  • B.A/B.S degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 5 years of experience in payroll processing.
  • Hands-on payroll experience with multi-state and multi-company payroll.
  • Expert knowledge of payroll methods, touch points, end-to-end processing steps, best practices, and tax filing.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
  • Responsible for US Bi-Weekly, Semi-Monthly, and Monthly payroll and Off Cycle processing.
  • Processes end-to-end payroll activities, including off-cycle payrolls and ensures that all employee earnings and deductions are accurate and made in compliance with payroll tax and legal requirements.
  • Responsible for 100% compliance with the payroll internal controls.
  • Responsible for accurate year-end payroll and W-2 processing and government reporting.
  • Ensures timely reporting and payment of the employer's and employees' withholding taxes and miscellaneous withholdings to appropriate agencies.
  • Facilitates management and employee understanding of payroll requirements and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, wage tax laws, segregation of duties, SOX and other federal and state legislation impacting payroll.
  • Resolve escalated payroll issues and provide expert payroll knowledge regarding special payrolls, garnishments, and taxation.
  • Good communicator and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Must be willing and able to work in an open office, team environment.
  • As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office for 4 days a week.
