Job Description
A Senior Engineering Manager responsible for leading the Production Engineering organization, focusing on automating and optimizing the software release pipeline, ensuring system reliability, and driving continuous improvement in a data storage technology company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operational execution of the software release pipeline from end-to-end code orchestration to triage management
- Manage and report on software release Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and key metrics related to product quality and engineering productivity
- Drive continuous process improvements and cost-efficient release cycles to reduce toil for the engineering team
- Design and develop automation tools and systems to enhance testing and integration efficiency
- Optimize resource management and track organizational efficiency through reporting
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify pain points, prioritize solutions, and improve release processes
Requirements
- Experience in a CI/CD, DevOps, SRE, or SDET role with a deep understanding of continuous integration systems and end-to-end automation.
- Hands-on experience with automation using programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or Kotlin, and the ability to independently deploy and maintain test environments.
- Proven ability to qualify enterprise products in cloud and container platforms such as AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker, with familiarity in environments like VMware.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing projects through the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring products are delivered to market on schedule and incorporating customer feedback.
- A track record of technical management, combined with analytical and creative problem-solving skills needed to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
- At least 5 years of experience leading or managing engineering teams or projects related to software release, automation, or continuous integration.
- Ability to work onsite at the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with company policies, unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.

Annual base salary range: 211,000 - 317,000 USD
